He made his career as a soloist, was the recipient of many an award and gave of his time to several institutions. And, above all, it was his unforgettable \u201cKnack-Bass\u201d, that percussive bass sound, which played such a significant role in characterizing the Bert Kaempfert sound.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kaempfert.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/ladi-d3e_9247-525px.jpg\" alt=\"Ladi Geisler, 25.10.2011\" title=\"Foto &copy; G2 Baraniak\" width=\"525\" height=\"349\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-296\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Until his passing, Ladi enjoyed life both offstage as well as onstage with his guitar \u2013 making music was, without a doubt, his very lifeblood!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In 2006 he celebrated his seventy-ninth birthday before a packed audience in Berlin\u2019s Friedrichstadtpalast: \u201cOther people of my age\u201d, he said, \u201clive out their days at a health spa; I prefer going on tour!\u201d With his typical Knackbass and outstanding guitar solos, Ladi enriched the \u201cStrangers In The Night \u2013 The Music Of Bert Kaempfert\u201d concert tours of 2006 and 2008, with audiences applauding him as the man of the evening.<\/p>\n<p>And yet, despite his busy schedule, he was always there for us when we needed him, generously offering help and advice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ladi, \u201eDanke Schoen\u201d!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/33252744?title=0&amp;byline=0\" width=\"525\" height=\"295\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Er spielte mit internationalen Stars.
